At this year's SPS / IPC / Drives the company TWK ELEKTRONIK shows new products related to Safety Integrity Level "SIL 2".The new model TRK/S3 is an absolute multi turn encoder based on Hall Effect technique with an interface according to “Failsafe over Ethernet”. The measuring range of 4096 rotations (12 bit) has a resolution of 8192 steps (13 bit). The encoder was SIL2 certified by German TÜV. The dual-bearing shaft allows an axial and radial load of 250 N. The massive aluminum housing of the transducer provides protection up to IP69K. This makes it particularly suitable for machinery and heavy engineering applications.

Furthermore TWK provides a vibration sensor based on MEMS technology. The model NVA/S3 measures in three axes. Six factory-adjustable frequency ranges are from 0.1 to 60 Hz. They allow for dedicated filtering of vibrations. The measuring range is +/- 2g. The resolution is 4096 digits per g. The secure interface is CANopen Safety. With two analog outputs of 4 to 20 mA and two safety relays switching outputs the sensor reaches the SIL2 requirements. The robust aluminum housing with two M12 plug connectors has a protection class of IP67. Preferred areas of application are, for example, wind turbines.
