UE Systems Unveils Ultraprobe 401 Digital Grease Caddy Pro

Ultrasonic systems from the EU instrument manufacturer has released a new device that will allow users to better direct their lubrication programs or procedures and reduce bearing failures.

By translating inaudible ultrasonic bearing sounds to audible sounds heard by the inspector through headphones and indicated on the display panel in a decibel level, the UP401 gives users the necessary insight to know precisely the right amount of lubrication without using too much lubricant. Just as importantly, the ability to trend data provides the user with insight on bearing failure causes and equipment life expectancies. The product is easy to use – an operator only needs to watch the digital display as he or she applies lubricant. Once the decibels drop to the baseline level, the job is done.

“Lubrication is one of the most common causes of premature bearing failures. Too little lubrication results in friction, causing bearings to overheat and malfunction. Over lubrication is considerably more damaging,” explained Doug Waetjen, vice president of operations at UE Systems. “With the UP401, users will have unmatched control over lubrication management, from the initial diagnosis to the analysis and storage of data.”

UE Systems'' Ultra-Trend Data Management System is compatible with the UP401 - together, they offer a comprehensive approach to data collection and analysis. The device mounts easily on most grease guns and can adjust to fit any number of test angles.

The UP401 includes a built-in LED lamp, swivel base, noise-blocking headphones, magnetically mounted transducer with a docking station and belt holster for easy carrying. Other features are two display modes, customizable settings and the ability to upload and download data.
