Eye Solar Protection
The importance of sunlight filtering.
Our eye is a wonderful organ that helps us filter sunlight: the pupil restricts to let in less light (visible light) and the lens protects us from UV light (invisible light).
In some situations, however, we need to further protect our eyes from:
VISIBLE LIGHT: this is dangerous because of glare that causes fatigue and discomfort, this varies in intensity depending on the location, and in this case, there are various degrees of protection.
The Sun protection category is graded on a scale from 0 to 4 according to the increasing percentage of filtered light; the higher the “SCALE NUMBER” is, the more you will avoid glare and thus be protected from visible light.
INVISIBLE LIGHT: includes ultraviolet and infrared rays; they are harmful to our eyes because they stress their internal structures and cause premature aging; therefore, you need to protect yourself with sunglasses that block 100% UV rays in both summer and winter.
Make sure that the European CE standard and UV400 are on the glasses.
