New nestable half-pallet for conveyor systems

Market surveys have revealed that so far, there were no competitively priced, nestable recyclable half-pallets on the market, which can be easily transported on automatic conveyor systems. This is why Georg Utz AG in Bremgarten developed a completely new half pallet, predominantly designed for use as a robust export pallet.

With dimensions of 812x612x145 mm and its external, 12 mm high safety board, this load carrier provides a usable surface of 800x600 mm. Together with the structured areas injected on the surface for anti-slip purposes, the pallet also provides the optimum prerequisites for safe transport.

The half-pallet UPAL-E from Utz was specifically designed for use on automatic roller tracks, chain and belt conveyors. Tests proved that the objective of smooth handling in Intralogistics was achieved. For instance, the pallet can be loaded ready for dispatch, is easily handled automatically, stored in a high-bay storage facility and transported as a single or reusable pallet. If the pallets are assigned to a multi-purpose cycle, they can be nested together for an empty return transport at a volume reduction of 65% - at a nest height of only 50 mm.

Thanks to the areas on the surface, the pallets can be automatically handled using a robot equipped with suction caps. The lateral rim offers space for the attachment of barcode labels or imprints. The half pallet UPAL-E weighs 3.4 kg and is manufactured from 100% UIC® PE (Utz Industrial Compound - a regenerate mixture comparable with new material, consisting of known and qualified sources). In Switzerland, Georg Utz AG produces exclusively with certified power from Swiss hydropower plants and therefore from CO2 neutral sources.
