Level measurement sensors along the Mekong
Seminar with 50 customers near Ho Chi Minh City
During the one-week tour through South Vietnam, Guoyan Zhang-Mailänder, area sales manager for Asia Pacific and South Africa encountered many level measurement applications in a variety of industries.
Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country located on the South China Sea with stunning natural landscapes, beaches, rivers, Buddhist pagodas and busy cities. This year the country commemorates the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh’s death (1890-1969), the communist leader who gained worldwide recognition for his efforts to liberate Vietnam.
After arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, also known by its former name Saigon, the tour took Guoyan five hours down south to Can Tho, the largest city of the Mekongdelta region and its economic, scientific and cultural center. Together with Ho Chi Minh City Can Tho is one of the most important sea ports in Vietnam.
There UWT partner Viet Nhat Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd. organized under the direction of Mr. Thi and a team of 8 colleagues a product seminar for more than 50 customers with the headline
“Industry Solutions with UWT Solids & Liquids Portfolio”.
The participants came from different regions in Vietnam and from various industries. Mainly represented were the sectors plastics, textiles, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, power plants, building materials, paper goods, glass as well as food and animal feed production. Engineers as well as OEMs were very interested in the extensive UWT product portfolio of reliable level sensors for continuous and point level detection in bulk solids and liquids.
To match the perfect sensor to the application and material to be measured was thereby the main focus. Where the sensor will be installed also has to be taken into consideration, i.e. silo, process container, tank, tub, basin, gutter, hopper, cistern or pipe.
Suitable level measurement technologies support plants during their storage and conveying processes as well as during dosing, mixing, filling or drying procedures. To reliably detect solids, granules, powders, pastes, foam, waste water, oil or for interface measurement the sensors are equipped with all relevant international certifications for hazardous areas, chemical and hygienic processes, such as ATEX, IECEx, EHEDG, WHG, to name just a few.
In addition, there was the opportunity to take a closer look at some special solutions for individual applications and to exchange experiences gained from some more unusual case studies. Using interactive demo test equipment, the participants were able to get hands-on with different level sensor units. Through the final Q & A session new ideas were generated and creative solutions were discussed together.
“Breaking the ice” Vietnamese style
According to the slogan “Work hard, play hard”, the afternoon program offered a valuable opportunity to get to know each other better, accompanied by delicious local food and a relaxed atmosphere. Social networking and a close customer relationship is the base for successful business partnerships. Finally, everybody had the opportunity to win high-quality prizes in the prize draw.

Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam's commercial and economic center with above-average economic growth.
