Anticondensation solutions for glycol lines
Having condensation problems in your manufacturing plants can contribute in larger issues in the long run
Detecting the cause of the problem
This manufacturing plant was facing leaks and moisture in all their glycol lines. Glycol is one of the most used products in heat transfer and cooling applications, as it provides better transfer parameters than water, however, usually when it gets in contact with the hose can create condensation causing leaks and moisture.
Our engineers visit the manufacturing plant and detect which hoses where causing this problems, and in which materials there were made of.
An insolation solution to stop the problem
After detecting the problem, our engineers detected that the most effective solution to avoid this problem was to protect the hoses with an insulation material. The best insulation material for this application is Telcra® an innovative material developed by Venair Techlab with incredible anticondensation properties. It’s lightness and incredible adhesion to silicone makes it perfect to cover all the hoses.
Implementation, results and long term plan
After evaluating the problem and determine the solution. All the hoses of the manufacturing plan were replaced for a range of more flexible hoses, Vena® sil 650V, which were able to work in tight spaces above the tanks covered with Telcra®.
This solution allowed the pharmaceutical company to fix their condensation problems avoiding major problems in the long run.
Moreover, they have also evaluated the return on investment of the project and have discovered that they’ve also reduced the maintenance cost of their fluid transfer installations. For this reason, they’ve counted on Venair for implementing this solution in their new Biologic plant.
