Vision Engineering Ltd has launched a new technical inspection system for the electronics industry - EVOTIS.

First look at EVOTIS - the new technical inspection system for large area subjects such as PCBs and multi-layer components.

The new EVOTIS is an advanced inspection workstation developed for subjects with large surface areas such as PCBs and multi-layer components. The new system has been designed to cater for a wide range tasks such as inspection, manipulation, reworking and training and can be easily used for Quality Assurance (QA) standards.

The system comprises three high capacity bases to suit the subjects being inspected, with an independently lockable X-Y axis. All the stages of the system allow for free floating movement and rapid inspection of components. The EVOTIS bases have electrostatic discharge protection (ESD) as standard, to allow for safe inspection or reworking of electronic components.

The technical inspection system can be configured with either the Lynx EVO stereo microscope or EVO Cam digital microscope. An array of inspection tools can be used in combination with these microscopes and the EVOTIS inspection workstation, including a wide range of objectives, high resolution camera modules and reticle eyepieces, offering magnification up to 300x.

Common to both the Lynx EVO and EVO Cam systems is Vision Engineering’s unique 360° rotating oblique and direct viewer. Available on request, this exceptional piece of equipment makes it easy to inspect around the sides of mounted components and features as well as the usual top surface. This smart accessory is especially useful for the inspection of soldered joints, holes, pillars and threaded forms and offers an extremely useful accessory for the EVOTIS workstation.
