Lees-Stop

the solution for the filtration of products with high content in solids

Thanks to several tests, VLS Technologies is ready to provide an ad hoc solution for filtration of products with high content in solids; that is by replacing traditional polymeric membranes with sintered stainless steel membranes in cross flow filters for lees.

Sintered stainless steel is already standard for mechanical systems of vinification.

What does “sintering” mean? Sintering is a thermal treatment to which powdered stainelss steel is subjected. High temperatures “weld” powders by heating them under their melting point.

We have verified that this kind of material perfectly adapts to cross flow filtration of “difficult” products (with high percentages of suspended solids, up to 70%). Sintering creates porous surfaces typical of tubolar membranes usually used in cross flow filtration.

Moreover sintered stainless steel possesses a conformation that guarantees high mechanical and chemical resistance which means high resistance to pressure, thermical and mechanical shocks and chemical washing with high Ph.

All of this goes to the advantage of clients that will benefit of a cross flow solution together with sintered stainless steel that can last in time.

Lees stop filter with sintered membranes are available with 2, 4, 6 and 8 membranes both in automatic and semiautomatic version.
