VULKAN Drive Tech, the leading manufacturer for heavy duty industry couplings presents a new high temperature VULASTIK L coupling with RS compound. The VULASTIK L has been specially designed for heavy duty and high temperature applications. In the past years, the demand for resistant high temperature applications grew in a vast way. Often, demands of a highly flexible but temperature resistant coupling could not have been satisfied by the market and flexible or even rigid couplings needed to be used. The temperature resistance of common rubber and synthetic rubber of 120°C is often exceeded by todays applications.

Therefore, VULKAN Drive Tech, expert in coupling design and compound processing, developed the new VULASTIK L high temperature design with the new RS compound to satisfy those demands. The new compound is capable to withstand temperatures up to 150°C – which exceeds all common natural and synthetic rubbers currently available in the market by far. In addition, the overall performance was greatly improved, allowing VULKAN to increase the permissible torque ratings by 100% - compared to former high temperature solutions. For the operator this usually results in an advantage in the investment costs by using a smaller coupling. With this new resilient high temperature compound, VULKAN sets new standards in industrial drives.

Also, there are further advantages of the RS compound compared to natural and synthetic rubber, such as a higher resistance against oil in air or from hydraulics as well as a high resistance against ozone and grease, where standard compounds show serious aging effects. Automated processes, such as a self-controlled bonding layer application and a non-destructive bonding layer testing in the world’s most modern plant for the manufacturing of highly flexible couplings complete the picture of the new standard compound for industrial drives.

Therefore, the new VULKAN Drive Tech heavy duty and high temperature VULASTIK L can be used in all areas of application where a special demand for a resilient solution is necessary, such as in off-highway, mobile machinery, agricultural machinery, railway, the oil and gas industry or the mining industry.
