New DC150 drill family from Walter Titex for high cost efficiency
Tübingen, 13 August 2014 – The DC150 drill family enriches Walter''s drilling range with a new product line: "Perform" stands for precision, process reliability and cost efficiency. DC150 offers Walter top quality for customers who, in order to machine cost-effectively, previously had to look towards other solutions.
The DC150 family from Walter Titex provides drilling tools for the tough everyday work of machining, in which theoretical cutting data is not everything: Small quantities, older machines, and frequent change between different materials. In such circumstances, peak performance is not determined by theoretical tool values and maximum cutting speeds. The result that can actually be achieved is the critical quality criterion. What counts for the customer: Precision, process reliability and cost-efficiency. No more, no less.
As a prelude to the new "Perform" product line, the DC150 drill family is Walter AG''s response to the demand for tools that combine high quality requirements with cost efficiency. DC150 will be available from September 2014.
What makes the DC150 so special?
Three key answers from Helmut Gschrey, Senior Product Manager for Holemaking at Walter AG:
Closes a gap: Our DC150 not only drills accurate holes, but also closes a gap in the Walter range. The machining industry is multifaceted and some established solutions are just as robust and long-lasting as the products themselves. Alongside high-tech production lines, even older machines with lower speeds have their rightful place. Under such production conditions, the theoretical performance data of many of our tools cannot be fully exploited at all.
DC150 is ideal for customers like these: They enjoy full Walter quality without paying for a level of performance that they cannot use at all .
Universal and very easy to change: The DC150 can be universally used for all materials, in all industries and especially in general mechanical engineering. Our new Perform product line offers an extra benefit in terms of cost efficiency, for precisely smaller quantities. Where small quantities are involved, the material is frequently changed, unlike in mass production. The machine operator can verify the tool life still remaining with only some difficulty. The risk of a tool break increases. With the DC150, the user can change the tool appropriately early without suffering a bad conscience, thereby restoring 100% process reliability, while still working cost-efficiently.
A wide selection to choose from: We will start off with a strong range and will be adding to it steadily. At the start, there will be DC150 in the almost 400 principal dimensions for all adapters typically used in drilling, as a 3xD variant with external cooling and a 5xD variant with internal cooling. We are producing large quantities of a consistent quality: And so our customers can rest assured that every single drill offers just as much process reliability as the next one.
