Intelligent coupling concepts – The CN range

When it comes to industrial filling stations in the chemicals industry, fluid confusion can very quickly have fatal results. The versatile clean-break quick couplings from WALTHER-PRÄZISION are well known in this sector for their very high levels of safety. They can be operated with very little effort, have short connection times and can be integrated into the system control/monitoring systems.

Now WALTHER-PRÄZISION unites all the necessary elements for both confusion-free and electronic process monitoring/control in the clean-break CN range. The couplings are designed in accordance with the poka-yoke principle in which a multiple coding pin system in the locking section prevents confusion mechanically. The couplings get their intelligence from RFID sensors. The RFID chips are integrated on the hose side of the coupling system, the signal antennas are located on the stationary system side. This enables the coupling points to be monitored electronically and status information about the coupling can thus be queried. The RFID system can be simply and safely integrated into the process landscape of the user thanks to a special software.

A CN range quick coupling from WALTHER-PRÄZISION enables lines that carry media which may be aggressive or a health risk to be quickly and safely separated and coupled since the couplings are squirt-free and the unavoidable residual media is kept to an absolute technical minimum.

The CN couplings attain optimum flow values and enable simple and quick operation with very little effort required even in residual pressure situations. In doing so, the mechanically forced guidance ensures that both coupling sides are sealed from each other before the locking mechanism allows separation to take place. This saves time and also increases operating safety since incorrect operation during the coupling process is prevented. Unpermitted torsion of the hose when connecting and separating is prevented by the rotation mounted locking sleeves.

The couplings are available in the nominal bores 25, 40, 50, 80 and 100 mm and are constructed solely from high-quality stainless steel.
