Introduction of Mixing tank

Stainless Steel Mixing tank

Chapter1

Introduction of Mixing tank

Mixing tank is a equipment which is widely used in industrial production and laboratory, mainly used for processing such as mixing, stirring, homogenization, solution and reaction. Mixing tank will ensure materials reach the statue of homogenization by fully mixing two or more materials by mechanical mixing. The design and function of mixing tank vary in accordance with the applied situation, but the core principle is to reach mixing through the flowing of the materials inside the tank by mixer (paddle or propeller).

Chapter 2

Main components of mixing tank

1. Tank

Tank is the main body of the mixing tank, usually made of materials like stainless steel, carbon steel, glass and so on, which is of good corrosion resistance and strength. And the tank mostly shape into cylinder while the bottom is designed into flat, conical or ball types so as to adapt different kind of process requirements.

2. Mixer

Mixer is the core part of the mixing tank and vary in types including paddle, anchor, screw and turbine. Different types of mixers will applied for different kinds of material characteristics and process requirements. For example, paddle mixer is suitable for the mixing of low-viscosity materials while anchor mixer will be more suitable for the mixing of high-viscosity of materials.

3. Drive device

Drive device is usually made of motor, reducer and drive shaft which provide the required power for the rotary of the mixer. The design of the drive device need to choose the suitable power and speed according to the capacity of the mixing tank and the characteristics of the materials.

4. Sealing system

Sealing system is used to prevent the leakage of the materials and external contamination, especially when handling toxic, harmful or high-purity, so sealing function becomes even matter. Normal sealing mean including mechanical sealing and packing sealing.

5. Heating/Cooling system

Some mixing tanks are equipped with heating or cooling system to satisfy the temperature requirements of specified process. Heating methods include electric heating, steam heating or transfer oil heating, while cooling can achieved through jacket or coil.

6. Control system

Modern mixing tank is usually equipped with automation control system so as to achieve the accurate control of some parameters such as mixing speed, temperature and time. Moreover, some high-end equipments are able to support remote monitoring and operation which can further improve manufacturing efficiency.

Chapter 3

Future development trend

With continuous progression of industrial technologies, mixing tank is developing toward the path of intelligent, high- efficiency and environmental protection. In future, mixing tank will attach much attention to energy saving and consumption reduction, automatic control and multifunctional integrity so as to satisfy even more complexed industrial manufacturation demands. Meanwhile. The application of new materials and new technologies will further improve the performance and application range of mixing tank.

As one of the most important equipments in industrial production, mixing tank will continuous push the development of related industry with its technological innovation and application expansion, thus inject new momentum to modern manufacturing industry.
