Development direction of China battery industry in the 13th Five-Year Plan

To implement the "People's Republic of China national economic and social development in the 13th five-year-plan" and "Made in China 2025”, guide the innovation and development of light industry in the next five years, and promote the transformation from "light industry big country" to "light industry powerful country, the Ministry of Industry and IT recently developed a “light industry development plan (2016-2020)”, which made a detailed explanationon for the development of a number of light industries.

The following is the direction of development of the battery industry in 13th Five-Year:

I. To promote the battery industry to direction of “green, safe, high performance and long life”.

II. To speed up the R&D and industrialization of high performance lithium ion battery electrode materials, battery separators, electrolyte, new additive, advanced system integration technology, the next generation of lead-acid battery technology such as spirally wound lead-acid, lead carbon batteries and bipolar plate grid, fuel cell proton exchange membrane material, replaceing-platinum catalyst, etc.

III. Focus on the development of a new type of primary battery, new lead-acid batteries, new energy EV batteries and fuel cells.

IV. Speed up the reconstruction and upgrading of technical equipment of the lead battery manufacturers in accordance with the "lead-acid battery industry regulations (2015)". Actively promote the construction of waste lead-acid battery recycling and utilization system.
