Experimental content:

The ultrasonic resonance spectrum of piezoelectric samples was tested under two conditions: plated electrode and non-plated electrode

Test objective:

To test the ultrasonic resonance spectrum of piezoelectric samples and identify some resonant modes from the spectrum, so as to invert the elasticity and piezoelectric coefficient of piezoelectric materials.

Test equipment: Phase locked amplifier (Stanford SR865A)+ power amplifier (Aigtek Ata-1220D)+ ultrasonic transducer

Experimental process:

computer control phase-locked amplifier output 50 KHZ - 2 MHZ frequency sweep signal, the signal after power amplifier amplification as actuating ultrasonic transducer excitation signal, so as to drive the sample produce high-frequency vibration, the vibration was after receiving ultrasonic transducer, returns to the phase-locked amplifier for processing, then output the ultrasonic resonance spectrum of the sample, the sample from the spectrum can be identified a number of resonant frequency, on this basis, the elastic and piezoelectric coefficient of piezoelectric samples may be for inversion.

Test results:

Figure (a) is the ultrasonic resonance spectrum of the rectangular cuboid sample of the unplated piezoelectric ceramics tested by the ultrasonic resonance spectrum testing system.

Figure (b) is the ultrasonic resonance spectrum of the cuboid sample of electroplated piezoelectric ceramics. Each peak in the spectrum corresponds to a resonant frequency, and the relative error of the elastic coefficient obtained by using the inversion of some resonant frequencies read out from the spectrum and the ultrasonic pulse-echo method is less than 3%.

The frequency sweep signal output by the PLL amplifier is amplified, which is used as the excitation signal of the ultrasonic transducer to drive the piezoelectric samples to produce ultrasonic vibration.
