Application of Power Amplifier in Foveated Imaging of Liquid Crystal Lens
Foveated imaging using liquid crystal lens
Experiment name:
Foveated imaging using liquid crystal lens
Research direction:
LCD lens imaging system
Experiment content:
Use the combined lens system to image the object, realize the clear area of the liquid crystal lens when power is on, with the effect of large field of view and local high resolution. The effects of the matching of the module aperture and the liquid crystal lens and the position of the liquid crystal lens on the image quality are analyzed through experimental measurement.
Test purpose: Demonstrate the clear imaging effect of the imaging system on the local area, measure the MTF of the imaging system at different positions and different apertures, and analyze its influence on the imaging quality.
Amplifier model: Aigtek ATA-2042
experiment procedure:
1.The liquid crystal lens is prepared in the laboratory, and the wavefront information is obtained by interferometry, the zernike coefficient is obtained by analysis, and the performance parameters of the liquid crystal lens are obtained to select the appropriate driving voltage(Figure 1);
2.Assemble the imaging system and conduct imaging experiments on objects in different areas; use ISO 12233 boards to conduct focus tests on the imaging system and test the MTF values of different apertures and different positions of the liquid crystal lens(Figure 2).
Test Results:
When the liquid crystal lens is not powered (Figure 3), it focuses on infinity, and nearby objects are blurred; when the liquid crystal lens is powered on (Figure4), the liquid crystal lens area works and focuses on the tiger part in the figure; you can see the front and back Obvious difference in clarity.
The efficiency of the power amplifier in this experiment: amplify the signal of the function generator, output a high voltage signal, and drive the liquid crystal lens to work.
