No compressed air, no limits: the battery-powered Flex-Arm brings handling technology to places that never had a connection

Manufacturing is becoming more flexible. Workstations are rearranged, assembly lines rebuilt, outdoor areas and warehouses brought into the process. What is often missing is a compressed-air connection exactly where the lifting needs to happen. This is precisely where the ZH90 Flex-Arm from Zeilhofer Handhabungstechnik comes in.
The Flex-Arm is a manipulator that works completely off-grid thanks to an optional 48-volt battery. No compressed air, no fixed power connection, no hose packages limiting the working range. The unit handles loads up to 200 kg and covers large areas with a working radius of up to 4 metres. Where there was no connection before, a fully functional, ergonomic lifting station is created in minutes.
The trend towards off-grid intralogistics is clearly visible. Production is becoming more modular, sites change faster, and every piece of fixed infrastructure that is not strictly necessary costs flexibility. A battery-powered manipulator adapts to the production, not the other way around. It can be used where the component is, not where a supply line happens to run.
Added to this is the ergonomic benefit. Loads up to 200 kg are guided without swinging and positioned to the millimetre. This protects employees, reduces downtime and makes recurring lifting operations safe and reproducible, regardless of the location in the hall or whether there is a hall at all.
The Flex-Arm is manufactured at our site in Holzkirchen, Germany, certified to ISO 9001 and TISAX Level 2.
