Use a Tedlar® bag to transfer the gas mixture

What is the correct procedure for using a sampling bag with a GasMix system?

Using Sampling Bags with the GasMix™ System – Best Practices

GasMix™ dynamic gas mixers and diluters deliver the desired concentration directly through the output line, typically connected to an analyzer such as a gas chromatograph (GC), spectrometer, or reactor. In situations where direct connection is not feasible or convenient, the gas mixture can be collected in a sampling bag and later injected into an analyzer for analysis or calibration purposes.

Various types of sampling bags are available on the market, and their specifications should be selected based on the application requirements.

With valuable input from our users, we have compiled a set of best practices for this procedure in a Technical Tip document, using the popular Tedlar® bag as an example. Download the full guide here.

GasMix™ systems are compliant with ISO 6145-7: "Gas analysis — Preparation of calibration gas mixtures using dynamic volumetric methods — Part 7: Thermal mass-flow controllers (MFC)." These dynamic diluters enable the continuous preparation of large volumes of gas mixtures.

Multicomponent mixtures can be prepared as easily as binary ones, with minimal additional uncertainty. This efficient solution is ideal for producing secondary gas standards or on-demand mixtures in analytical laboratories, significantly reducing the need for storing multiple calibration gas cylinders.
