New partnership for inertial sensor technology

Angst+Pfister as a partner of Murata continues its successful history of MEMS inertial sensor technology and signs a partnership with Finland-based software expert Nordic Intertial (NI). "With Nordic, we have gained a partner who has been active for many years in the field of sensor technology for mobile systems in off-road, commercial automated vehicles but also automotive. We can now offer our customers full support in their projects. This ranges from the connection of sensors into a network to purchasable licenses from an existing software library. We are proud to present this important partnership at Sensor+Test. With this partner, customers create important freedom to offer products faster," says Thomas Röttinger CEO Angst+Pfister Sensors and Power AG.
In order to be able to show the performance of algorithms and the Murata sensors, Angst+Pfister offers an open IMU (Move IT!) together with Nordic Inertial. With the integrated 32-bit μProcessor, the sensors can be selected and compared according to the requirements (static, dynamic).
Nordic Inertial's software ranges from straightforward additional calibration to the output of full orientation information via CAN-bus. Since this development environment is not locked to specific design, software and hardware can be transferred to the target system." We see very often that customers struggle to take inertial solutions in use due to HW or SW problems that can easily be avoided with expertise. A lot of time can be saved with proper initial HW and SW. This is exactly where we come in and support customers in their developments," says Jussi Collin CEO and founder of Nordic Inertial.
About Angst+Pfister Sensors and Power (APSP)
For over 35 years, APSP (formerly Pewatron AG and GmbH), based in Zürich and Unterschleissheim (Germany), has been offering high-quality and – at the same time – competitively priced sensor, power and drive solutions for OEM customers in the fields of industry, medicine, transport and more.
About Nordic Inertial (NI)
Nordic Inertial Oy is experienced in development of inertial dynamic estimation algorithms. NI has implemented various MEMS-based inertial sensor applications for the industry. NI toolboxes can be easily customized for customers’ needs and the solutions can be verified with NIs own reference system.
