Situation:
In order to avoid leaking spray water during the sawing process on tile cutter machines, a rubber curtain / rubber sleeve made from three individual elements was previously attached around the saw blade. Due to the rubber elements not providing a perfect seal, spray and dirty water leaked out. Another disadvantage was that the rubber wore down very quickly and no longer guaranteed a reliable seal. The quartz dust contained in the tiles is furthermore harmful to the health of the machine user.
Solution:
A specially designed brush seal, combined with a rubber lip, can significantly reduce dust emission, as well as providing a safe, reliable and visually appealing protection against leaking spray water. Even on a swivelled saw head, the flexible and supple bristles prove to be a reliable sealing element.
