Time is running out for Euro 7 brake compliance. Measure. Comply. Stay ahead.
Euro 7 brake particulate emission limits come into effect from November 2026, and the majority of current systems might not be compliant
Back in November 2022, the European Commission published its proposal for the Euro 7 emissions standard, outlining what it hopes will be the foundation for a cleaner automotive industry. Significantly, for the first time, it laid out targets for the reduction of vehicle emissions beyond just the exhaust.
There’s a lot of evidence that the majority of particulates coming off modern vehicles aren’t from the tailpipe anymore. Instead, they’re emitted from crucial components like tyres, and particularly brakes. The most recent Euro 7 text states that particulate emissions from brake abrasion (PM10) must not exceed certain limits.
