Webinar: Road to Euro 7 Compliance.
Brake Wear Requirements, Homologation Challenges and Technical Solutions
Time is running out. From November 2026 onward, brake wear emissions become a regulated requirement under EURO 7, extending vehicle compliance far beyond exhaust emissions. Brake wear must be assessed according to defined test procedures, boundary conditions, and conformity criteria, and compliance must be demonstrated as part of the vehicle type approval process.
For OEMs, brake manufacturers and regulatory institutes this represents a major shift. Timely and smooth homologation is now essential to avoid delays, penalties, and market‑entry risks, while keeping costs under control.
As key contributors to GTR 24 / UNR 179 on brake emissions, AVL experts will provide a regulation‑driven, insider perspective on brake wear requirements. Starting with Euro 7, the session expands to the global regulatory landscape, including certification and homologation strategies that support compliance readiness worldwide.
In the second part, we share insights from the latest brake wear studies and translate them into real‑world applications. Through selected use cases, we demonstrate how AVL Brake Solutions are applied and integrated, successfully addressing customer‑specific technical and regulatory challenges.
Key topics addressed:
- Status and scope of Euro 7 brake wear regulation, including test procedures and test boundary conditions
- Global brake wear regulations such as China 7
- AVL Brake Test System and its relevance for homologation demonstrated through real‑world cases
- AVL's research activities, supporting compliant measurement, validation and approval readiness
