New iOS App for Infrared Temperature Sensor

Free app for the Calex PyroNFC industrial pyrometer allows configuration on iPhone

The PyroNFC is a miniature, low-cost industrial infrared temperature sensor. It is fully configurable via a free smartphone app, now available for iOS devices on the App Store.

The new app is compatible with iPhone 7 or newer, running iOS 13 onwards.

As with the existing Android app, there is no need to power the PyroNFC sensor to read or write settings. Sensors can be configured straight out of the box with no wiring necessary.

If the sensor is powered, you can read the measured temperature in the app. On iOS, a temperature reading is taken each time you tap to update the measurement and touch the phone against the back of the sensor. On Android, the temperature updates continuously while the phone is held against the sensor.

PyroNFC sensors measure the temperature of surfaces from 0°C to 1,000°C, and are available with either a voltage or Type K Thermocouple output for connection to industrial process instrumentation. All models also have a configurable open-collector alarm output that can be used at the same time as taking temperature measurements.

You can download the app and try it even if you do not have a PyroNFC sensor.
