Road Cleaning in Mountain Landscapes

As mountain roads weave through picturesque landscapes, hidden dangers lurk beneath the scenic beauty. The call for vigilant road clearance resounds between gravel and wet leaves, ensuring safe passage through these captivating terrains.

Mountain roads, with their breathtaking scenery and unique driving experience, can present threats to those who ride on them. The presence of gravel, leaves, and other debris represents a particular danger for cyclists and motor vehicle drivers. During winter, gravel is often poured on roads to combat ice and snow, but this material can become a hazard once the cold season has passed.

Gravel scattered on the road compromises tire grip and vehicle stability, while wet leaves make the road surface slippery, increasing the risk of loss of control. Ensuring the safety of all road users requires constant cleaning and maintenance of the roadways, where sweeping buckets are indispensable allies.

The sweeping buckets are versatile equipment easily attached to various operating machines, including skid steer loaders, tractors, forklifts, telescopic handlers, wheel loaders, and backhoes. They come with enhanced brushes designed to efficiently collect gravel, leaves, debris, and other materials from the road surface or urban areas. The collected material is deposited inside a spacious collection bucket.

The addition of the optional side brush proves necessary, especially during roadside cleaning operations and any profiles (adjacent to sidewalks). This accessory plays a crucial role in collecting material deposited along the sides of the road, pushing it toward the centre of the roadway. Here, the material is promptly collected by the central brushes of the sweeping bucket, ensuring a complete and efficient cleaning process.

CM followed the cleaning of mountain roads, between the Vicenza and Verona hills (Italy), on a rainy afternoon, where the CBS 225 sweeping bucket, with a working width of 2250 mm, cleaned the roadway from gravel and foliage. One of the distinctive features of the street sweeper is its ability to operate in various weather conditions, including rainy days. Even when the weather is unfavourable, road cleaning and maintenance can continue uninterrupted, always ensuring the safety of those who travel them.
