COMBISAFE LAUNCHES NEW FRAMED BARRIERS – THE SMART ALTERNATIVE TO WOODEN RAILS

While the traditional option of guardrails and toeboards have been used for many years, it does have the disadvantage of needing many component parts, as well as having to replace and dispose of timber rails between jobs. COMBISAFE identified the need for a simpler, stronger alternative which could be used time and time again – the solution? The Framed Barriers.

There are two options available; the Framed Rail Barrier which has a toprail, intermediate guardrail and toeboard all in one, and the Framed Mesh Barrier which incorporates toprail, toeboard and steel mesh for increased containment. Lightweight, quick and easy to install, the barriers do not require any specialist training.

For construction environments where EN13374 Class B & C compliance are not necessary, the Framed Barriers are ideal – providing compliance to EN13374 Class A - protection to flat surfaces and slopes up to 10º, resistance to static loads and has been designed to support a person leaning against, walking beside, and even stumbling against the edge protection system.

Both barriers are suitable for all types of construction work; steel, concrete and timber. Allowing a good level of work-through, when used in conjunction with COMBISAFE Safety Posts and Extension Holder, they can be conveniently raised and lowered to accommodate concrete pours and installations.

As the European economy remains in a fragile state, building contractors are being put under more pressure to deliver construction projects on time and on demand, and often most importantly, on budget. With this in mind, COMBISAFE tailors its products, systems and accessories to address industry-specific needs – this lead to the conception, design and creation of the Framed Barriers.

COMBISAFE continues to set the standard in safety at height technology, delivering preventative and protective systems for the construction industry. Now available across Europe, the Framed Barriers offer a sustainable, safer and cost effective alternative to timber rails and toeboards.
