Sizing machine exhaust contains water vapor, smoke, and hot air. To increase water vapor/smoke content, reduce hot air emission, and cut energy consumption, the National Development and Reform Commission’s "Access Conditions for the Dyeing and Printing Industry" mandates online humidity monitoring for sizing machines and drying processes.
Current manual humidity adjustment (via exhaust fan valves) relies on experience, causing significant energy waste due to large errors. Intelligent monitoring is key to energy savings. Drying cost is closely linked to temperature and humidity: evaporation efficiency and energy consumption show nonlinear changes with exhaust humidity. Below 20% exhaust humidity, energy consumption surges while efficiency barely changes. Thus, 20% is the optimal exhaust humidity for dryers.
Sizing machines have less than 30% heat utilization, with major heat loss in exhaust. Tests show: at 5% exhaust humidity, air volume is 19x that of water vapor; at 20%, it’s only 4x. The heat from this 15x difference is completely wasted.
