Accurate Air Flow Measurement with No Straight Duct Run Requirements: The High Beta
The High Beta® Process Flow Conditioner is specifically designed for industrial process applications where the expansive straight duct runs needed for ideal accurate flow measurement are not present.
Where Flow Conditioning Is Needed
Air flow measurement is most accurate in straight duct runs where air flow can be evenly profiled across the duct at the point of measurement and where no turbulent, reverse, or cyclonic flow patterns are present. Typically, it can take as much as 10 diameters of straight duct run to eliminate turbulent or reverse flow, while it can take as much as 30 diameters of straight duct runs to eliminate cyclonic flow. For accurate and dependable air flow measurement, flow conditioning is often required if adequate straight duct runs are not present.
Why Use an HBP?
The HBP - High Beta Process flow conditioner is specifically designed for industrial process applications where the expansive straight duct runs needed for accurate air flow measurement are not present. The HBP integrates flow-straightening vanes and a flow-profiling section with the precise measurement accuracy of the VAP3® Pitot to offer the elimination of cyclonic, turbulent and reverse flows and dependable and accurate air flow measurement, even when positioned directly downstream of duct obstructions.
Easy Installation
The HBP is contained within a flanged duct section, thus allowing easy bolt-on installation within new or existing ductwork. Because the HBP is offered in a variety of off-the-shelf sizes and designs, ordering is quick and easy and delivery can be made without the longer lead times often associated with custom designs.
