A New Era of Precision in Air Flow Measurement Has Arrived!

Eastern Instruments introduces the QVT Smart Multivariable DP Transmitter for measuring air flow at very low Differential Pressures

Eastern Instruments introduces the QVT Smart Multivariable DP Transmitter. The QVT is a Smart Transmitter that can be used for the accurate measurement of up to four separate process variables including Differential Pressure, Temperature and Absolute Pressure. When coupled with any DP based flow measurement element, the QVT will calculate the fully compensated mass flow of air/gas travelling through any process which is at or near atmospheric pressure (5 - 25 psia). The typical operating range of the QVT is between 0.0009 and 9.9 in WC. Its high accuracy, especially at such low flow rates, is due in part to its unique process seal which requires no diaphragm seal. Due to condensate, diaphragm seals often cause inaccuracies in alternate technology’s sensor readings.

The QVT can be retrofitted into any installation since it will work with any new or existing flow element. An optional mounting bracket allows the QVT Multivariable Transmitter to be pipe mounted in either the horizontal or vertical plane. For new installations where both a transmitter and flow element are required, the QVT can be directly mounted to an Eastern Instruments provided flow element such as VAP Insertion Pitots or the High Beta Flow Conditioner for extreme accuracy in any installation. Whether using an Eastern Instruments provided flow element or using an alternate manufacturer's flow element, the QVT is extremely versatile and can be utilized as either a full multivariable transmitter, or as a DP transmitter where only Differential Pressure will be measured.

The QVT's output is a 4-20 mA signal equivalent to flow, or in the case of a single variable DP transmitter, the 4-20 mA signal can also be equivalent to differential pressure.
