Emergency Off and Repair Switches

Main, emergency off and repair switches

A manually operated main switch must be provided for each mains feed in order to disconnect the machine's electrical equipment from the mains (e.g. when work on the electrical equipment is to be done).

Designed as a circuit breaker as per EN 60947-3 for category of use AC-23B

Manually operable with just one On and one Off position, which are clearly marked 0 and I

Visible isolating distance or position indicator, which can only indicate the Off position when a sufficient isolating distance as per EN 60947-3 exists between all contacts

Handle in black or grey

Can be locked in the Off position, e.g. with padlocks

Handle for the main switch easily accessible between 0.6 and 1.9m above the access level

Sufficient breaking capacity to cut off the largest motor's current when stalled along with the total of all other motors' and/or consumer units' operating currents.

EMERGENCY-OFF BUTTONS

The safety contact constantly monitors that the connection between the emergency off button and the contact element is as it should be. If due to negligent fitting or mechanical damage the emergency off button becomes detached from the contact element, the safety contact cuts in immediately and the machine gets shut down.

CAM SWITCHES

VN series cam switches are manually operated cam switches suitable for an extremely wide range of uses and with practically unlimited switching possibilities. The cam switch's base unit forms the contact chamber with the cam wheel for function control. Each chamber contains 2 double break contacts, with the moving contact bridges being controlled by the cam wheel via the contact slides. The opening of the contacts happens positively. VN switches can therefore be universally used and can be built as control switches, instrument switches, motor switches or main switches. The VN series includes a range of different sizes. The VN series cam switches have been developed, made and tested in accordance with the relevant national and international regulations. This line's products fall into the area of applicability of EC Low Voltage Directive 2006/95/EC.

ENCLOSED MOTOR SWITCHES

Many of our switches are available in enclosed form and suited to direct switching of motors. They have AC-3 breaking capacities as per EN 60947-3. In addition to the standard units, there are special switches, versions with a fuse block / locking mechanism or with a CEE plug and low-voltage circuit breaker. Motor switches
