Suitable for filter aids used for wine, beer and fruit juices filtration. It is possible to connect a stirrer directly to the pump allowing a convenient installation on diatomaceous earth filters (keiselguhr), because the same pump''s motor drives the stirrer without the need of a separate mixer.
WIA series convenient design allows safe and leak free operations of medium thanks to very reliable sealing of its diaphragm. The requirements for maintenance are so reduced to the minimum.
The pumping head materials are chosen for the diatomaceous earth dosing:
- pure PTFE gaskets, o-rings and diaphragm
- 316L stailess steel valves and seats
- suitable for food use polypropylene head or alternatively steinless steel 316L
Diatomaceous earth or kieselguhr, is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder. It can be used to filter water, particularly in the drinking water treatment process and in fish tanks, and other liquids, such as beer and wine. It can also filter syrups, sugar, and honey without removing or altering their color, taste, or nutritional properties.
