IEG-FCH1
The compact lateral level indicator for safe liquid monitoring
A plant downtime, a leak not detected in time, a tank that "talks" too late: these are often the origins of problems in production lines and industrial plants.
This is why, for years, F.lli Giacomello has designed level indicators conceived not as simple components, but as true allies in process safety and efficiency, like the IEG-FCH1 lateral electromagnetic level indicator.
A "safety switch" on the side of the tank
The IEG-FCH1 is a single-contact lateral electromagnetic level indicator that precisely monitors a specific point in the tank, signaling when the minimum or maximum liquid level is reached.
In essence, it works like a small "safety switch": when the magnetic float reaches the preset level, it activates a Reed switch, opening or closing the contact and sending the signal to alarm systems or connected equipment.
Technical features for reliability
The IEG-FCH1 (model IEG-FCH11 PDA 03 PP with M12 x 1.5 connection) features an SPST contact with switching power up to 50 W, voltage up to 200 VDC – 240 VAC, and current up to 0.5 A, making it suitable for numerous industrial applications.
The IP65 protection rating, 30 cm cable, and operating temperature range of -20°C to +80°C ensure operation even in harsh conditions, maintaining system continuity and safety.
An additional design advantage is the ability to change the operating logic simply by rotating the device 180°: the contact can be switched from normally closed (N.C.) to normally open (N.O.) without structural modifications, adapting to different control philosophies.
Where it is used
Thanks to its structure and compatibility with non-corrosive liquids compared to the indicator materials, the IEG-FCH1 is used in a variety of contexts:
• Hydraulic power plants and mineral oil tanks, where level control is essential for the proper functioning of machines and actuators.
• Industrial automation systems, machine tools, lubrication and cooling systems, where a precise level signal helps reduce faults and downtime.
• Tanks for diesel fuel and other non-corrosive and non-flammable liquids, typical of generator sets, power units, and power systems.
In all these scenarios, the IEG-FCH1 lateral level indicator offers a compact yet strategic solution: a component that, while often "hidden" within the plant panel, plays a key role in transforming liquid control into a reliable, repeatable process that can be easily integrated with modern supervision systems.
