RL / M12

A SMALL LEVEL FOR GREAT PERFORMANCE

he Rapid Level series from F.lli Giacomello has been a benchmark in industrial fluid level control for years, thanks to solutions that combine simple construction, application versatility, and high reliability. This range includes the RL/M12, a vertical level switch for internal tank mounting with an M12 thread, designed for precise monitoring of maximum or minimum levels even under severe operating conditions.

The RL/M12 can be used with dirty liquids, water, petroleum, refrigerant oils, and in the presence of metal particles, including ferrous particles, since the float does not incorporate a magnet and is integral with the rod. This feature makes the device suitable for a wide range of applications in machine building, lubrication systems, cooling circuits, and fluid treatment systems.

A distinctive feature of the RL/M12 is its flexibility in configuration: the length of the steel rod can be adapted to the system's needs simply by cutting it with a pipe cutter, thus achieving the desired intervention level. Alternatively, the use of a float with a through hole allows the liquid control point to be changed without mechanical intervention on the rod, facilitating adjustments and subsequent optimizations in the field.

From a safety perspective, the RL/M12 is designed to ensure maximum reliability over time: the electrical component is completely separate from the tank side and sealed to the outside by fully encapsulating the output cable, reducing the risk of infiltration and ensuring watertightness even in harsh environments. A single float can activate a dedicated Reed contact (minimum or maximum level), allowing precise control of the intervention point envisaged by the design.

The Rapid Level RL/M12 are supplied standard with rods suitable for monitoring levels up to 500 or 1000 mm and can be requested already set up for monitoring pre-determined levels, simplifying design and reducing installation time. For tanks with moving liquid, a brass or AISI 316 still tube is available upon request, which stabilizes the level and improves detection accuracy in the presence of turbulence.

Upon request, the float can be supplied with a through-hole and positioned along the rod without the need for cutting, allowing it to match the height of the tank. The control point can subsequently be modified by moving the float, with the option of integrating AISI 316 stops for greater robustness. The RL/M12 thus proves to be a compact and reliable solution for monitoring a set point (maximum or minimum) with complete safety and in a variety of operating conditions, including clean and dirty liquids, oils, grease, and water-glycol mixtures.
