GEDA-blue on the Emerald Isle
The GEDA 1200 Z/ZP transport platform in use on the Irish coast
In the Irish coastal town of Dalkey, a GEDA 1200 Z/ZP transport platform is being used for the construction of new one- and two-bedroom apartments. With this optimal lifting solution "Made in Germany", the construction could be completed on time.
Dalkey, a suburb of Dublin, is located in the south-east of the capital in the midst of an extraordinary landscape directly on the Irish Sea. Here you can enjoy an excellent view over the sea to Dalkey Island, which is popular with locals and tourists alike. The high demand for housing in Ireland required the new apartments to be completed on time. The Irish company Mantis Cranes LTD was able to help with this by installing a GEDA 1200 Z/ZP transport platform.
Know-how and partnership pay off
Only last year, GEDA's transport platforms celebrated their 25th anniversary, a sign of the quality and performance of their equipment. The transport platform from Asbach-Bäumenheim in Bavaria was also an indispensable aid on the Irish construction site.
It was particularly important to the customer, who had commissioned our partner Mantis Cranes, that the loading and unloading of material be carried out quickly. The safe and fast transport of personnel was also a priority, in order to save time and effort on their project. After a detailed consultation and a site inspection by a technical advisor from Mantis Cranes, it was clear that the GEDA 1200 Z/ZP was the optimal device for this construction site. With a platform size of 1.4 m x 2.0 m and a load capacity of 1500 kg, it is ideally suited for moving building materials, such as plasterboard or roof slates, to their place of use.
The workers could also be brought to their workplace without any problems because the GEDA 1200 Z/ZP can transport up to 7 people in addition to the material. Due to the urgency of the project, the GEDA 1200 Z/ZP transport platform was indispensable on the construction site and the contractor was able to save time and money. This was achieved despite difficult conditions: the transport platform was installed in an underground car park on the construction site, from where it had to access the 5 floors of the construction site through an opening at ground level. The successful cooperation between the manufacturer, GEDA GmbH, the rental company Mantis Cranes, and the construction company on site led to a quick and successful installation.
For a total duration of 7 months, our GEDA 1200 Z/ZP transport platform supported the work in Dalkey, Ireland and contributed to the timely completion of the project. We look forward to continuing to support Mantis Cranes' projects with our GEDA equipment in the future.
