Schlegel expands its control unit series mYnitron

Active illuminated emergency-stop and pushbutton for mounting diameter 16.2 mm for much more compact control panels

Modern control panels have to comply with different requirements. For this purpose it is necessary to combine the highest demands as to ease of use, flexibility and safety. In addition, the optical appearance is most important in many fields of application. In order to offer customers a lot more options for the equipment of compact control stations, Georg Schlegel GmbH & Co. KG has expanded its control unit series mYnitron: Beside the well established emergency-stop for 16.2 mm mounting diameter the series now comprises a new pushbutton and a new active illuminated emergency-stop, also for 16.2 mounting diameter and in the same design.

Schlegel's mYnitron actuators convince by a sophisticated, shapely design as well as by their compact dimensions and thus they are perfectly suitable for the equipment of mobile hand-helds, pluggable programming terminals, small medical devices or fitness machines, like for example treadmills. „By the expansion of our mYnitron range by the smart, active illuminated emergency-stop and the low priced pushbutton, compact operating panels in a unique design can be compiled“, explains Kurt Blank, head of the R&D at Schlegel. The pushbuttons are available with silver-coloured or black front ring and opaque or transparent lenses with different front side marking options. Moreover, Schlegel also offers it as variant with intensively high LED illumination.

Active illuminated emergency-stop for higher safety

The active illuminated emergency-stop of the mYnitron series for 16.2 mm mounting diameter which is approved acc. to DIN EN ISO 13850 means higher safety in working with mobile operating stations. The functional principle: In case the operating panel is connected to the overall system the active status of the emergency-stop is signalled by the red illuminated mushroom head. If there is no connection the mushroom head is not illuminated and thus is transparent grey which gives the information on the non-active status of the emergency-stop. The aim is to avoid confusions upon placing the operating station out of operation, to eliminate an operating of an inactive emergency-stop and thus to ensure safety at work. By the new emergency-stop for just 16.2 mm mounting diameter it is now also possible to equip quite compact operating panels with this safety feature.

The tactile short-stroke pushbutton and all emergency-stops of the mYnitron-series are designed for IP degree IP65 and IP67 as well as for a rated operating voltage of 35V. Furthermore, they convince by a simple, time-saving plug and play assembly: The actuators have just to be put into the panel and to be fixed by a mounting nut. Connection is done by Faston connectors. On customer request Schlegel also offers individual solutions, for example complete systems consisting of operating unit, emergency-stop and pushbuttons.
