Interactive terminals make it easier to register visits to farms and livestock farms

Digital kiosks allow people and vehicles to be identified quickly and securely.

Knowing the entire history of a food or food product from its origin until it reaches the end consumer guarantees the quality, safety and origin of the food we consume.

European legislation, specifically European Regulation 178/2002, and Spanish legislation, Law 28/2015, of 30 July, for the defence of food quality, regulate how food traceability should be carried out.

According to this European regulation, traceability is the "possibility of finding and following the trace, through all stages of production, processing and distribution of a food, a feed, an animal intended for food production or a substance intended or likely to be incorporated into food or feed".

This traceability must be carried out from the time the animals are on the farm or farms, recording aspects such as the feed lot, animal identification number, veterinary treatment, weight, slaughter, packaging, labelling, etc.

However, farms and livestock farms must not only focus traceability on the origin of the animals and feed, but must also keep a record of the visits made to their facilities.

In this post we are going to explain how our interactive terminals help and facilitate these agricultural and livestock companies to comply with Spanish and European regulations on traceability.

HOW INTERACTIVE TERMINALS HELP THE LIVESTOCK SECTOR

Visits or access by non-regular people such as, for example, technicians to carry out repairs on the farm or livestock farm, can be an access route for viruses and bacteria. To increase biosecurity and comply with Spanish and European legislation on traceability, farms and livestock farms must record the visits that are made, in order to be able to provide information in the event of any type of infectious outbreak in the animals.

These records must be made before entering the premises. Interactive terminals facilitate this control, and allow people to avoid having to get out of the vehicle, which also reduces the risk of any type of occupational accident.

At EOS Ibérica we have technological solutions such as our eStop Truck, eStop Truck Pro, eStop Truck Pro and eStop Pro terminals. Multimedia devices that have been designed and manufactured for outdoor use with high levels of anti-vandalism protection and to withstand adverse weather conditions such as low or high temperatures, rain, snow, wind ... Depending on the terminal in question, these devices have these features:

one or two 12.1" or 17" panel screens, which provide ergonomics and visibility.

Peripherals such as webcam, ticket printer or DNIe reader, which facilitate the identification of people and vehicles.

All these components allow the identification of people and vehicles as well as the accurate and reliable storage of data, which enables the monitoring and traceability of visits.

This digital record of visits enables farms and livestock farms to carry out greater control and, in the event of any type of infection, the origin of the infection can be established more quickly. With EOS Ibérica's interactive terminals, you will be able to improve the biosecurity of your farm, comply with food traceability regulations and offer a quality and reliable product to your customers.
