Solid Waste is being Turned into Energy! Why SRF/RDF Become the New Competitive Way of Carbon Reduction
The country mentioned in the 14th Five-Year Plan to increase the proportion of clean energy consumption.
The application of alternative energy such as hydrogen energy, biofuel, and waste-derived fuel in the steel, cement, and chemical industries will be encouraged. Recently, a regulation pointed out that alternative fuel technology should be promoted to replace coal with domestic waste, solid waste, and biomass fuel, reducing fossil fuel consumption.
From the perspective of energy structure, alternative fuel (SRF/RDF), as promising renewable energy, has become the fourth largest energy source after coal, oil, and natural gas for cement kilns, fluidized beds, and other industrial kilns. As a high-quality and environmentally friendly renewable resource, alternative fuel itself is made from solid waste and waste treatment. Its combustion efficiency is similar to that of fossil fuel, but its carbon emissions are lower. It meets the policy requirements of carbon emission reduction, saves costs for enterprises, and is of great significance to environmental protection.
The substitution relationship between fossil fuels and alternative fuels (SRF/RDF) is as follows:
1.4 tons alternative fuels = 1 ton coal
1.7 tons alternative fuels = 1 ton petroleum coke
2 tons alternative fuels = 1 ton fuel oil
Under the background of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals, using environmentally friendly, affordable alternative fuel (SRF/RDF) is the new trend of the future.
In view of the complex solid waste material situation in China, the general industrial waste treatment line developed by Harden adopts modular design, which can convert general industrial waste into high-quality and high calorific value alternative fuel (SRF/RDF), replacing non-renewable fossil and realizing the conversion from waste to energy. Screens, wind shifter, optical separator, and robot separator can be added for more complex waste to improve the product quality. This treatment is equipped with high torque double shaft shredder and specialized single shaft shredder for SRF/RDF. After secondary shredding, the size of discharge can reach 30-100 mm, and the standard rate is higher than 95%.
The conversion of general industrial waste into alternative fuels (SRF/RDF) is a development trend in the requirement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Meanwhile, It’s also an effective way to achieve low carbon production, environmental protection, and carbon emission reduction. As a leading enterprise of solid waste management in the industry, Harden will continue to strengthen research and development in the future, continuously consolidating the core competitiveness, contributing to Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goal.
