How to choose the right fasteners

When selecting fasteners, factors such as the material and shape of the connection, the required connection strength, whether it is permanent or temporary, and whether it requires frequent disassembly and maintenance need to be considered.

Permanent fasteners are commonly used in applications where strong and stable connections are required, such as in structural engineering and machine manufacturing. Temporary fasteners are more suitable for situations that require frequent disassembly, adjustment or maintenance, such as temporary fixation during assembly or equipment that requires regular maintenance.

1. Choose rivets when permanent connections are required and there are high requirements for vibration and impact.

2. Choose bolts and nuts when detachable connections are required, the location of the connectors is high, or frequent maintenance is required.

3. Choose gaskets when you need to increase the connection area, reduce pressure, or protect the connection surface.

4. Choose screws when materials need to be fixed or connected but need to be easily disassembled.

5. Select pins when temporary connection or positioning is required and high positioning accuracy is required.

6. Nails are suitable for installing lighter objects, such as decorations, picture frames, small shelves, etc. They just need to be hammered or fastened with a staple gun.

7. If you need to install heavy objects, such as furniture, wall-mounted TVs, etc., it is safer and more reliable to use anchors because they can provide stronger support.
