KNTECH Provides Turnkey IP PA Solution for Hong Kong’s United Christian Hospital
Integrated central control, departmental paging and distributed IP amplification support daily and emergency communication in a demanding hospital environment.
KNTECH, Hongkong Koon Technology Limited, was awarded the supply and installation of a public address (PA) system for Block A and SE at United Christian Hospital in Hong Kong. Under the Hospital Authority’s Kowloon East Cluster, the project demonstrates KNTECH’s capabilities in PA system design, equipment integration and on-site implementation for healthcare facilities.
A hospital PA system must address different communication needs across multiple floors and departments. Routine announcements, targeted paging and emergency messages require flexible control, while installation work must be coordinated around ongoing clinical operations. For this project, the engineering design covers Block A from B2/F to 16/F, together with designated SE areas.
To meet these requirements, the solution combines central PA control with distributed local nodes serving individual floors and departments. Network-connected amplifiers and defined speaker zones allow operators to address a single department, selected groups or all configured zones. Priority-controlled announcements support emergency broadcasting, while central and local operation provide flexibility for hospital staff.
The coordinated equipment package includes the KNTD-50PA central PA controller, KNPA-800 paging microphones, KNIPMG-600D8 IP amplifiers, KNPB-24 PoE access switches, KNL12/KNL12F ceiling speakers and KNCMIC1/M01 acoustic monitoring devices. Together, these components connect control, networking, amplification and audio endpoints within one integrated system.
The system design also incorporates ambient-noise monitoring, line and device supervision, and structured event and fault records. These functions support system oversight and maintenance. Documented IP addressing, device naming and zone allocation provide a clear foundation for troubleshooting and future expansion.
On-site installation activities include ceiling speaker integration and departmental call-station deployment. Coordination between engineering design and site execution helps manage equipment positioning, wiring, labeling and functional verification within the hospital environment.
KNTECH’s turnkey delivery approach brings together site assessment, system design, equipment supply, installation and integration, supported by testing, commissioning, operator training and maintenance planning. This coordinated approach helps customers manage the interfaces between equipment and project delivery.
The United Christian Hospital project highlights KNTECH’s ability to develop integrated public address solutions for complex healthcare environments, with a focus on clear communication, flexible zoning and maintainability.
