New POWER-Skate DUO Load Moving System from HTS
LogiMAT 2024
With the POWER-Skate load moving system from HTS Hydraulische Transportsysteme GmbH in Fellbach, Germany, machines and components can be moved cost-effectively and dynamically through production. Flexible in use and not bound to a specific rail systems or sensor-controlled navigation, a POWER-Skate can be used outside such predefined routes.
The POWER-Skate is available in various load capacities. It starts with the small POWER-Skate IDEAL PSI 5-10 with a total load capacity of 10 tonnes and the lowest installation height of 110 mm in the market. Followed by the PSX 12-24 with a total load capacity of 24 tonnes and optional hydraulic lift and goes up to the POWER-Skate XL PSX 20-40, which has been available for many years, with a total load capacity of 40 tonnes, 180 mm closed height and optional integrated hydraulic lifting cylinder.
Simultaneous driving and steering at three proportional speeds as well as safe positioning with the one-joystick function of the remote control can be operated by one person. Compactly built with a maximum insertion height from 110 and 180 mm and powerful, digitally controlled synchronous motors and a battery life of up to 4.5 hours under full load, these transport systems are suitable for use in confined spaces thanks to their compact design. The old-fashioned transport train length can be reduced by up to six meters as the towing vehicle is no longer required. Simple steering and constant directional stability in all areas and at all speeds is possible with just one joystick.
Two POWER-Skate XL load moving systems are available as a DUO version when equipped with the Cerebellum DUO control unit. They can be moved synchronously with just one radio remote control and one joystick. An ECO-Skate ROTO rotational trolley is normally used as a third or fourth support point. A total load capacity of up to 80 tonnes is thus possible.
The special feature of the POWER-Skate DUO is that both units communicate with each other so that the movement synchronizes for all wheel or crab steering. With the previous version, the operator had to visually check the correct position of the transport units in relation to each other and readjust them if necessary. With the new Cerebellum DUO control system, alignment is carried out automatically by switching to a different driving mode on the remote control. The transport process can be started when the change of driving mode is done signaled on the display of the remote control.
This makes the application safer, as the user can no longer make a visual misjudgement.
Synchronous transports are often the only solution when space is very limited, as the load can be turned on the spot. For example, rotated by 180° or 90° within the production line or shifted sideways.
Both POWER-Skate DUO skates can be also used individually for a three point load moving mission with fixed rear skates.
