More efficiency through simplification

Proven posyART transport system with a new curve

IEF-Werner continues to develop the posyART transport system for workpiece carriers: the new 90° curve element offers an economical solution by dispensing with active drive and control components. This passive alternative was developed as part of an engineering project. It optimizes material flow and cost structure.

"We designed the new curve element as a passive solution. Because it can do without components such as motors, pneumatics and controls, the costs are reduced by around a quarter compared to the previous version - depending on the size of the workpiece carrier," Oliver Koch, responsible for transport systems at IEF-Werner, explains. The range of functions remains the same, and as fewer parts are installed, this reduces maintenance costs.

Inside curve concept for smooth transport

The internal curve element enables a precise material flow by guiding the workpiece carrier between the two belts via ball rollers. The solution works uniformly for all workpiece carrier sizes - 200, 240 and 400 millimetres - and, as before, enables a maximum load of up to 200 Newtons per workpiece carrier. No adjustments need to be made to the workpiece carrier itself, so there are no additional costs or disadvantages for customers. In addition, the uniform design using existing standard parts and components supports pre-assembly, which further reduces costs.

Advantages at a glance

- Cost reduction: The elimination of active components significantly reduces acquisition and operating costs
- Low maintenance: fewer moving parts mean less maintenance work
- Sustainability: Resource-saving use of materials and energy with the same mode of operation compared to the previous active 90° curve
- Flexibility: Standardized design for all workpiece carrier sizes

Areas of application and perspectives

The new curve element is suitable for numerous industrial applications, including the automotive industry, electronics production and medical technology. The continuous further development of the posyART transport system demonstrates IEF-Werner GmbH's focus on sustainability, customer orientation and efficiency in automation.
