Points of ESD prevention
The main causes of static electricity(ESD) and preventing static electricity troubles.
Static electricity (ESD) is The big issue of static electricity at production sites, particularly in winter.
It explains that static electricity is a common occurrence during the winter season, causing experiences like electric shocks when touching doorknobs. The charged potential felt by the human body is typically several kilovolts (kV). However, even if the static electricity is below 1kV, it can still cause various troubles at production sites.
The main causes of static electricity are 3 points.
1. electricity charged by abrasion (objects rubbing against each other)
2. electricity charged by detachment (when an object is separated or detached)
3. inductive charging (when a charged object approaches a conductor)
These causes of static electricity can create problems at production sites.
To prevent static electricity troubles, various methods are applied at production sites. The three main methods discussed,
1. Releasing generated static electricity
2. Neutralizing generated static electricity
3. Preventing static electricity altogether
Creating an environment where static electricity does not occur is considered the best method. However, each method has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the choice of method depends on the specific production site. In some cases, using multiple methods together can be effective.
