THE SPECIAL APPLICATIONS OF XENON LAMPS

For over 70 years, IREM has continuously offered specific products and solutions for the professional lighting sectors that use Xenon lamps.

The short arc Xenon lamp is a specific type of gas discharge lamp capable of producing bright light with characteristics very similar to those of natural sunlight.

For this reason, Xenon lamps find application in highly specialized sectors that need to generate and use artificial light, with a continuous spectrum, as close as possible to daylight (color temperature of 6000 Kelvin).

The advantages deriving from the use of Xenon lamps are not dictated only by the intrinsic characteristics of the light source, but rather depend on the quality of the power supply supplied to the lamp itself.

In fact, two essential components are needed to supply power to the short arc Xenon lamp:

- the Power Supply (also known as rectifier or ballast)

- the Igniter

The quality of the technical characteristics of the power supply and the igniter are therefore essential both to power the Xenon lamp reliably and ensure a long life, and to increase the performance levels of the final applications.
