IREM HYDROELECTRIC TURBINES FOR INSTALLATIONS ON AQUEDUCTS

An interesting and growing opportunity, which is attracting interest in the hydroelectric sector, is the installation of hydroelectric turbines on aqueduct pipelines.

Generally, in mountain and foothill aqueducts, the water is conveyed into pressurized pipes and sent to loading tanks which, in turn, are used to feed the drinking water distribution network.

The PELTON and BANKI IREM Ecowatt Hydro hydroelectric turbines can be installed on the existing aqueduct system in order to exploit the hydraulic energy produced, which would otherwise be dissipated and lost, transforming it into usable electrical energy.

Beyond the technical aspect of the machinery, if we consider the extreme importance of hygiene and public health, for systems installed on drinking water, IREM produces and supplies hydroelectric turbines which, thanks to the use of suitable components, processes industrialized production, customization of the turbines and specific controls, are made compliant with current legislation on processes and materials that can be used in contact with water intended for human consumption.

This legislation is regulated in Europe by Directive 98/83/EC, in Italy by the Ministerial Decree. 174/2004 and in France by the ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire).
