Nitrogen for packaging coffee capsules and pods

Borbone coffee, inimitable taste of Neapolitan coffee to the world

COFFEE BORBONE

Facility based in Caivano – Naples (Italy)

Founded over 20 years ago by Massimo Renda, Caffè Borbone is the third largest coffee producer single dose capsules and

pods after Lavazza and Nespresso. Currently the production is concentrated in Caivano in a modern facility of more

than 13 thousand square meters where 5 roasting lines allow the annual production of about 10,000 tons of coffee.

ISSUES TO SOLVE

Borbone Coffee is one of the leading producers of coffee pods

and capsules. Inside the pods, coffee is enclosed in a paper filter made

out of cellulose. The pods, not being self-protected, are

packaged in a protective atmosphere to retain the aroma.

In capsules, instead, coffee is enclosed in a plastic or aluminum casing

that allows you to store and retain aromas.

The capsules are packaged with nitrogen to eliminate oxygen.

ISOLCELL NITROGEN GENERATOR

THE SAFEST AND COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

It was May 2012 when L'Aromatika, a company belonging to the group

owned by Borbone Coffee, after purchasing a nitrogen generator from one of

our competitors, decided to upgrade its plant by purchasing one of our

Generators capable of producing about 50 Nm3/ h of food standard nitrogen.

It is the beginning of the collaboration between Isolcell and Borbone Coffee,

a partnership that culminated in 2021 with the installation of the third group of

2D7 generators.
