Military slip rings are broadly applied in various military appliance and instrument. Aside from production machines and testing facilities, most weapon systems need a suitable slip ring to realize their functions. For instance, a radar system is usually equipped with a high frequency rotary joint while a missile needs a navigator slip ring. fiber optic rotary joints are favored in optic dome camera. And there are great differences in their technical parameters and details given their different purposes.

Take armored tanks as a more in-deep example. On the chassis, a slip ring is installed to enable power and signal transmission for the turret. For some high-end armored tanks, there is an inertial navigation system that also in need of a slip ring. JINPAT Electronics has developed numerous hybrid slip rings for vehicle-borne system. Aside from the commonly seen armored tanks, there is also another kind that needs slip ring to realize power and signal transmission. That is the smoke bomb launcher tank. This kind of tanks are generally installed with one or two rotary launchers. The slip ring allows the power and signals to transmit between the rotary launcher and the control center.
