Application of JINPAT LPS Separated Slip Rings in Aviation Field

In the product series of JINPAT, the separated slip rings are assigned with the LPS code.

Due to structural limitations, their application field is very specific and limited. Therefore, the number of standard product models in this series is relatively small. As for the products with 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24 channels, the separated slip rings have a significant structural difference from other types of slip rings. They have no shell, and the brushes and copper rings of the fixed and rotating parts are both exposed. Such a characteristic determines that they can only be installed in some enclosed instruments or equipment with good protection measures.

Aircraft equipment requires a large number of slip rings, such as radar, satellite antennas, and aviation instruments represented by attitude indicators, horizon gyroscopes, navigation balls, and heading gyroscopes. Among these aviation instruments, the separated slip rings are mainly used, except for some ultra-miniature slip rings. For example, LPS-12A, a separated slip ring, was originally designed according to the needs of aviation instruments, so it can be directly installed in attitude indicators, horizon gyroscopes, and navigation balls.

In addition to standard products like LPS-12A, there are also many aviation instruments that require customized separated slip rings, such as lengthening the brush wires or reducing the core shaft diameter, etc. Therefore, specialized separated slip rings need to be customized based on actual conditions. In the product cases provided by JINPAT for the aviation instrument equipment field, the vast majority are based on standard products like LPS-12A, and there are few large-scale customized products. The specialized separated slip rings provided by JINPAT for the aviation equipment field are installed on aviation communication equipment, not instruments.

IPS095-0203-30S is the most representative customized separated slip ring provided by JINPAT for aviation communication equipment. Due to the structural limitations of the separated series standard slip rings, the highest voltage they can support does not exceed 240VAC. When applied in the dry aviation field, the actual working voltage of this product is basically below 48VAC. Therefore, this product is also a weak electric product with a very low designed working voltage. The rotor through-hole diameter of the LPS095-0203-30S slip ring reaches 95mm, the outer diameter is 18mm, and the height is 85mm. In terms of volume, it can be regarded as a giant among weak electric separated slip rings.
