Introduction to JINPAT Low Torque Slip ring Technology

When communicating with customers, they have various requirements for the performance of slip rings, including high protection level, high linear speed, good signal transmission performance, and low packet loss.

In the face of numerous demands, customers sometimes emphasize specific requirements, which necessitates the design of slip rings tailored to their focal needs. Taking low torque slip rings as an example, compromises need to be made during the design process to ensure that the torque meets the customer's requirements.

JINPAT offers a range of standard slip ring products, particularly capsule slip rings with fewer paths and smaller sizes, typically operating with torque below 0.5 Nm. For customers who only require ordinary rotating electrical and mechanical devices, JINPAT engineers would initially recommend standard products with low torque. However, in many cases, the torque of standard products below 0.5 Nm may not meet the customer's requirements. In such situations, the development of a completely new product is necessary to optimize the torque according to the customer's specified standards. Typically, the torque of these custom products is below 0.1 Nm.

Due to structural considerations, low torque slip rings involve trade-offs in performance. They possess characteristics that many conventional slip rings cannot achieve, such as rotational speed. All high-speed slip rings available on the market are products with extremely low torque. To achieve the goal of lower torque, these slip rings also sacrifice certain features in their design. The lower the torque of a slip ring, the lower its protection level. For instance, the LPC-10S-20KHS model of JINPAT is a low torque slip ring designed for ultra-high rotational speeds, but its protection level can be disregarded due to oil scraping and cooling holes on the stator.

Furthermore, JINPAT has extensive development experience in through-hole low torque high-speed slip rings. These slip rings exhibit very low torque. For example, the LPT060-1204-0201-04S model of JINPAT slip rings is designed to operate at a rotational speed of 5000 rpm with a working torque below 0.05 Nm. It integrates 4 channels for RS485 signal transmission, as well as 12 channels of 4A and 2 channels of 1A power rings. However, due to structural factors, the protection level of this type of slip ring when horizontally installed can only reach IP50. Of course, this protection level is only suitable for operation in relatively clean, dust-free environments.
