GCU-100 Automatic Engine Control and Protection Module

Kutai Electronics manufactures a complete range of automatic generator control units (GCU) that perform perfectly as both high-reliability OEM and universal replacement parts for all different brands of engines and gensets.

The Kutai GCU-100 Automatic Engine Control and Protection Module is a programmable, microprocessor-based controller that provides all functions necessary for control and protection of any traditional genset. For electronic engines with J1939 engine control unit (ECU) our KCU-04 CAN Bus J1939 Decoder Module can added to display sensor information and alarms on the GCU-100, including engine coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, engine speed, and other generator warning message such as low fuel level, low battery voltage, and engine over speed. The front panel of the GCU-100 has both “icon type” graphical signal warnings and also three sets of LED displays for generator 3-phase Voltage, Current, and frequency (Hz), as well as Engine Operating Hours, DC Battery Voltage, and display of all Delay Countdown timers (i.e. cranking, Stop, Idle, pre-heat).

The GCU-100 allows extensive customization of setting values for specific generator protections and settings and can be programmed from the front panel without having to use a laptop or other computer. All generator settings are saved into the internal memory (EEPROM). The controller has two free inputs for creating user defined alarms, which are also displayed on the front panel by LCD indicators !1 and !2.

The GCU-100 has four slots for installing optional Kutai “KCU-“ communication modules to enable display and control with a remote computer or our RA-485 remote annunciator.

Kutai KCU- modules are also available to establish network connections through USB, RS-485, Ethernet or Wi-Fi. With a network connection GCU-100 users can remotely monitor and control gensets wherever they may be operating. Using either our KCU-30 Ethernet or KCU-40 Wi-Fi communication modules for network connection further enables access to our Kutai Server, allowing a user to monitor their gensets from any Smartphone or tablet by using our KCU- Control app.

Registration for the Kutai Server requires only a valid email address to assign the user account name. There is no charge for the service at this time.
