ECU-04 / ECU-05 add-on Auto Start Modules

Kutai ECU-04 / ECU-05 Auto Start modules add remote and auto start capability to any manual key start generator set by simply attaching to the back of the existing key starter.

The ECU-04 / ECU-05 Auto Start modules can start any diesel or gasoline generator with a two-wire input from any remote switch or an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) controller. The original key starter can also continue to be used.

Connection by terminal block to the back of the existing key switch allows for fast and easy installation.

The ECU-04 allows DIP switch selection of “Preheat” for diesel engines or “Carburetor” for gasoline engines with a choke solenoid.

The ECU-05 allows DIP switch selection of “Preheat” or “Energize to Stop” for diesel engines that use this method for engine shutdown. When the DIP switch is set to “Preheat” the ECU-05 operates in under Energize to Run (ETR) mode.

To improve starting performance in cold weather the start sequence for diesel engines on both ECU-04 / ECU-05 begins with preheat via glow plugs and manifold heater. The start sequence for gasoline engines using ECU-04 begins with energizing the choke solenoid.
