GCU-10 Generator Control Unit and DSP-10 Multi-function Display Module

Kutai Electronics manufactures a complete range of manual and automatic generator control units (GCU) for use with all types of gensets. Kutai generator control units are used as original equipment by genset assemblers and also as OEM or universal replacement parts for many engine and alternator combinations.

Our Model GCU-10 is an Automatic Engine Control Module providing all of the functions required for control and protection of a gen-set. The GCU-10 module can start and stop the genset either manually or automatically and also detects fault conditions, providing automatic shutdown to protect the genset and also indicates the fault on LED graphic indicators on the front panel.

In “AUTO” mode the GCU-10 module monitors a “REMOTE START” signal and starts the unit when commanded by an automatic transfer switch (ATS) controller or other device, making it an excellent choice for backup generators. When a “REMOTE START” signal is detected the start sequence is initiated using the same start settings as the Manual start sequence.

The GCU-10 is a very economical, microprocessor-based generator control unit, providing custom configuration capabilities for far less cost than comparable programmable controllers. The GCU-10 has five adjustable potentiometers to change the time delay settings and also five Dip switches for matching of the genset parameters.

When a fault is detected the GCU-10 will automatically shut down the engine and indicate the fault by means of one of eight graphic LCD indicators on the front panel, including a user defined input -

Emergency Stop A “User Defined” Input

To display generator AC voltages, Frequency (Hz), DC supply voltage, and engine operating hours our DSP-10 Genset Multi-Function Display Module can be installed together with the GCU-10. The DSP-10 can be used individually or jointly with the GCU-10.

The GCU-10 provides an IDLE control signal for electronic governor controllers. This IDLE control signal time can be adjusted to your requirement. Kutai manufactures an electronic governor controller to work with the GCU-10 or any other GCU with an idle signal output.

Optional GCU-11R 12V/24V relay boards are available to simplify wiring and connection, making it a simple process to retrofit your existing gensets with the GCU-10 and/or DSP-10.
