Process reliability as the key to sustainable production

Against the backdrop of the current events in Europe and the extreme rise in energy prices, online process control in textile production processes - especially regarding technical textiles - is more important than ever before.

Manufacturers of technical textiles have to manage a balancing act between economically profitable production and a high-quality product that strictly fulfils all the stated specifications. In addition, the process steps should be as transparent as possible so that the user can recognise deviations and react directly.

Risks are, for example, warped fabric or deviations in coating application. A product quantity that is too large or too small inevitably results in reworking or, in the worst case, rejects. This in turn causes customer dissatisfaction and additional costs. Manufacturers of technical textiles successfully counteract this by relying on process and quality control - and killing two birds with one stone. Not only do they receive a high-quality product, but they also save considerable energy and material costs through the "right first time" principle.

Mahlo supports them with a wide portfolio of measuring and control systems that can be individually adapted to the respective application. This includes a selection of straightening machines. The flagship product Orthopac RVMC-15 alone, an automatic weft straightener, detects and straightens 97% of all known web. With the help of scanners and sensors, the Mahlo quality control system Qualiscan QMS-12 makes important parameters visible and therefore controllable. And this is how the foundation for a high-performance product is built.
